Exercises and brain function?

As an ISSA Certified Trainer and avid exerciser It is important that I stress regular exercise for both a healthy mind and body.  Regular exercise causes your brain to work at it's optimum capacity by causing nerve cells to multiply, strengthening their interconnections, and protecting them from damage.  When we exercise regularly consisting of aerobic and anaerobic (resistive) exercises our nerve cells release proteins known as neurotrophic factors which activates brain stem cells to convert into new neurons.  These neurotropic factors also trigger numerous other chemicals that promote neural health.  I personally have seen patients improve nerve function not only with Chiropractic care but with regular exercises.  More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's Disease in the U.S. and it is now recognized as the 6th leading cause of death.  Perhaps exercise is one of the answers in solving this full article...
